What is the core definition of fintech, and how does it differ from traditional
finance?

Fintech is using new technology in order to improve financial services. It comprises mobile payment, internet lending, robo-advisors, and cryptocurrencies.

The main difference between fintech and traditional finance is their philosophies:

• Technology-Centric vs. Institution-Centric
The fintech companies are all about a digital-first culture and using algorithms and software to provide services. The old-fashioned finance, the banks included, are about physical presences, old systems, and face-to-face interactions.

• Accessibility and Speed
Fintech makes financial services much faster and simpler. You can open an account, borrow money, or transfer funds instantly using the phone. Finance normally is slower and requires a lot of paper work.

• Cost
Fintech normally charges less or no fees at all since it experiences less cost of operations associated with physical branches. The conventional bank charges relatively higher maintenance fees and other extra services.

• Innovation
It is all about swift innovation as fintechs are releasing new tools as often as peer-to-peer payment and AI budgeting. Banks are slowly introducing new technology, yet it is the fintechs that are disrupting the industry.

Identify and describe at least three key drivers of the recent fintech boom.

• Changing Consumer Behavior:
Customers, especially the young generation, are getting more accustomed to and prefer the speed and convenience of electronic services. They are demanding smartphone-accessible services with smooth usability.

• Technological Advancements:
Rapid development of such technologies as machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain formed the background for the development of fintech.

• Financial Inclusion:
In most instances, fintech firms focus on serving the underserved segments of society that are not catered to through the banks. Low-cost or fee-less services and fintech as a digital-first business are providing financial products and services to a much larger number of people, including those living in the countryside. With an orientation on financial inclusion, there is an enormous potential market for fintech to develop and prosper.

What are the main categories of fintech companies, and how do they
differentiate themselves?

Fintech can be grouped by the type of financial service it improves. Unlike traditional banks, fintech makes things easier, more affordable, and more accessible for everyone.

• Payments & Digital Wallets:
